Virtual Sales and Marketing have been a thing ever since online communication grew in popularity. Not only does this allow companies to reach a wider audience, but it’s also more convenient and safer. And one of the jobs that grew from these changes is the online outbound sales specialist job.

These sales professionals are responsible for handling and attracting outbound customer contacts. They’re also responsible for educating new customers on the company’s services. Aside from this, they also generate leads that could help the company improve its product or service promotion.

Other duties and responsibilities of outbound sales specialists include:

  • Contacting prospective customers via telephone or email.
  • Conduct market research to develop warm leads.
  • Identify prospects that fit the company’s target demographic.
  • Maintain contact with existing clients to ensure they’re satisfied and inquire if they have any referrals.
  • Report weekly sales goals and objectives to regional leaders.

The salary rate for an entry-level full-time online outbound sales specialist job range from 19,000 Pesos to 28,000 pesos. Of course, this salary rate increase depending on the experience of the applicant. The expert-level salary for an outbound sales specialist could reach up to 50,000 Pesos.

Because of the pandemic, online outbound sales specialists have become even more crucial for companies. This is because they’re usually the customers’ first contact with the company. This article will provide aspiring online outbound sales specialists some tips to become more sought-after by companies.

Be Familiar with Online Communications Apps

Be Familiar with Online Communications Apps

Yes, I know this is common sense. I could hear you yelling that you wouldn’t have applied for an online outbound sales specialist job if you didn’t know how to use Facebook or Instagram.

But there are more online communications applications than just these social media sites. Apps like skype, google meet, zoom, and many others have since appeared and used by potential customers.

If you want to remain ahead of the competition, you must be familiar with how to use these new apps so that you can better communicate with potential customers. Not only that, you should remain open to learning whatever new communication app may appear in the future as well.

Remain Adaptable

Remain Adaptable

Another soft skill that can help in your online job is being adaptable to any situation you’ll encounter at work. Remember, you’ll be meeting a wide variety of people. So what may work on one customer may not work on the other. To attract these customers, you must adjust and adapt your sales pitch to suit their context and preferences.

For example, you’re trying to attract a foreign client to try out your company’s remote working services. Not only will you have to get past the language barrier, but you also have to adjust your sales pitch depending on the customer’s culture and preferences. Being adaptable allows you to overcome these obstacles and convincingly present your sales pitch to your potential customer.

Know Your Customers

Know Your Customers

As the saying goes: “Knowing is half the battle.” If you want to improve your chances of attracting potential customers, you must first know your customers.

Are you appealing to teenagers? Or perhaps office workers? Your sales pitch must reflect the needs and wants of your target audience. This is so that they’ll be more inclined to listen to you. It’s unwise to use modern slang and jargon when talking to older customers. And it’s cringe-worthy talking to teenagers using inappropriate memes or slang.

This advice also connects to both my first and second tips. Knowing your target market gives you an idea of what means of communication do they use. Which then allows you to adapt your approach to them.

Show Commitment and Punctuality to Your Customers

Show Commitment and Punctuality to Your Customers

There’s no bigger turn-off for your potential customer than being late for a meeting. Just imagine being in your potential customer’s shoes. They’re giving time and energy to listen to your sales pitch about this new product or service. Then you don’t show up on time. Doing this shows that you’re not prioritizing your customer, and you’re not a man of your word.

To avoid this, always be on time and appear professional when meeting potential customers. Just because you’re meeting online doesn’t mean you can slacken already. Appear at your best and on time, and you will leave a perfect first impression on your potential customers.

 Conclusion

Conclusion

These tips are just a few of the ways you can improve your skills in your online outbound sales specialist job. Of course, you will find more as you continue with your job. These tips just cover the general soft skills you will require. These skills are what allow you to face and present to potential customers with confidence.

Of course, these advice are only as good if you follow them. It is still up to you to have an adaptable and committed mindset for your job.
